Sticky Faith Book Club with Adam McLane

Brad M. Griffin

Last week our friend Adam McLane proposed an idea that surprised us.  Adam's a busy leader, in the midst of launching two new ventures, and has a packed fall just like everyone else.  But he wanted to start a book club.  For youth workers who are parents.  The book? Sticky Faith.

As Adam shared with us, and subsequently on his blog:

Here’s a painful reality that I’ve had to face: There have been times when I’ve cared more about ministering to other people’s kids while neglecting the needs of my own kids. And as I’ve shared that painful reality I’ve come to realize that I’m not alone in that struggle. It’s a common problem among ministry families and one I think we need to address together.

So this book club is for parents who serve in ministry.  Each week brings a chapter discussion, running Oct 10 through Dec 5.  It's free, online, and neither Adam nor FYI get paid to do this.  It's all about supporting one another in ministry, and sharing ideas and encouragement from family to family.

To be honest, our very first thought in response to Adam's question was, "We wish we'd thought of that!"  But we LOVE this kind of initiative and vision that really makes Sticky Faith more than a book, website, or seminar. This is way bigger than any of us here at FYI. This is about a movement.

Check out Adam's invitation to join up, and meet over 50 others in ministry who've already signed on! We truly hope this will be a game-changer for parents of kids of any age.
