Blue Like Jazz + Sticky Faith Giveaway Contest

Kara Powell, Brad M. Griffin

If you’re reading this blog, chances are good you know someone heading to college this month. Blue Like Jazz DVDs

Maybe you know a first-time college student (perhaps they’ve even lived in your home), or maybe you’re watching a whole class of students from your church enter a new era of life and faith beyond high school.

Like us, you wonder about those students. How will they adjust to campus life? What will their new friends be like? Will their faith hold up in the midst of all the transition?

Those questions were central to our Sticky Faith research. They’re also questions that the film Blue Like Jazz addresses head-on.

This week we’re excited to partner with the folks from Blue Like Jazz to offer a handful of FREE GIVEAWAYS to five fortunate blog-readers! All you have to do is leave a comment on this blog post in order to be eligible to win.  The prizes include:

  • Blue Like Jazz DVD plus Sticky Faith: Youth Worker Edition (4 winners total), a $50 value.
  • Blue Like Jazz DVD plus 1-year public exhibition license (see below for details), plus Sticky Faith: Youth Worker Edition (1 winner). This is a $250 value!

But a contest is no fun without a conversation. So here are your prompts for the comment stream:

As you think about those students you know who are entering college this month, what are some of your hopes and dreams for them?

As you think about preparing rising high school seniors over the course of the next year, what do you most want to communicate to them about the changes they will face?

If you need some initial ideas, feel free to watch our interview with Blue Like Jazz movie creators Donald Miller and Steve Taylor. The interview touches on themes within the movie, including the new choices college students confront, the role of doubt in faith development, engaging others' differences, and the power of conversation partners across the transition.

Thanks for chiming in and being part of this exciting giveaway! We’ll choose and announce the winners September 5.
